A lot of professionals in the photography and design industry use Adobe Photoshop to edit and process their images, but the software can be intimidating for beginners and amateurs who just want to touch up the occasional photo. Furthermore, not everyone can pay the cost/subscription of such software. Luckily, there are several free online editors popping up on the internet which are simpler and easier-to-use alternatives to Photoshop.

The PicMonkey is a free online photo editor website that works on your browser without installing any additional application. It has various features such as crop, resize, rotate, overlays, fonts, luscious effects, add text, frames and touch up tools and to advanced stuff like cloning, touch-up effects. There is also a wide range of effects and plenty of options for touching up portraits.
2. PHOTOSHOP EXPRESS
Adobe Photoshop Express is a Flash-based image editing web and mobile application from Adobe. It is a companion to Photoshop.com, the online photo sharing, editing, and file hosting resource. With Photoshop Express, you can choose from a variety of one-touch effects, or simply move your cursor across the screen to resize, rotate, crop or adjust color. Decorative filters like Sketch or Soft Focus can also be added. The beautiful thing about this editing tool is that you can undo your changes as a copy of your original file is always saved.
Pixlr is a cloud-based set of image tools and utilities which includes a number of photo editors, a screen grabber browser extension, and a photo sharing service. The suite was intended for non-professionals, however the apps range from simple to advanced photo editing. Pixlr is one of your best options if you need a free image editor that lives within your browser (no software download needed). It also has many of the same functions as Photoshop, great layout and complete with a customizable user interface with adjustable menus. Pixlr even has the same keyboard shortcuts as Photoshop.
Fotor is an online image editor with similar functions with that of PicMonkey. Fotor hosts a wide selection of filters including a tilt-shift tool. With sticker-like overlays, easily add hearts and bow ties to your pictures as you wish. Fotor’s free photo editing features including photo collage, photo frames, photo effects, photo retouching, color splash, tilt-shift, clip arts, text, photo cards, online HDR and more. It also has a Chrome extension for deeper browser integration.
Befunky is one of best online photo editing websites that requires no registration and there are no ADS on pops up on their platform. Befunky allows you to upload from Facebook, Picasa, Photobucket, your computer or take an image with a webcam. There’s lots of edit options including effects, frames and text. If you enjoy using the free online editor they also have apps for iOS and Android.
